Explore the Coastline Your Way

Your Kayak, Your Pace

This isn't a float-along tour where someone else does the work. On our Keauhou Bay kayak adventure, you're in the driver's seat, paddling a tandem sea kayak through some of the Big Island's most beautiful coastal waters.

Your guide leads the way, but you set the rhythm. Want to push it? We'll pick up the pace. Prefer a leisurely glide? That works too.

Where Lava Meets the Ocean

From Keauhou Bay, we paddle south along the Kona Coast, where the shoreline opens up to ancient lava flows, hidden coves, and underwater lava tubes. The kind of spots you'd never find from land and can't reach on a big tour boat.

The water here is crystal clear, so even from your kayak you'll spot fish, coral, and the occasional honu (green sea turtle) cruising below. Spinner dolphins are common year round, and if you're visiting during whale season, you might catch a humpback passing through.

Snorkel If You Want

Feel like getting in the water? We'll find a calm spot to stop, and you can snorkel right from your kayak. Gear is included. It's optional, but most people can't resist.

Anelakai Adventures is the way to go

Anelakai Adventures is the way to go if you want to have a laid back and personalized experience. This is the type of experience that you won't find on a giant boat filled with 60 people. With Anelakai we were treated like family and we had a cultural, historical and exciting Experience. So fun!

Have questions before you book? Here's what most guests want to know.

  • Is this tour suitable for beginners?

No kayaking experience needed. We'll go over the basics before we launch and stay with you the whole time. That said, you should be comfortable in the water and able to swim. If the kayak tips (rare, but it happens), you'll need to be okay treading water while we help you back in.

  • How hard is the paddling? Do we need to be strong swimmers?

It's moderate activity — you'll be paddling for about 2 hours with breaks. Most people in reasonable shape do just fine. You do need to be able to swim, since you'll be getting in and out of the kayak from the water.

  • What if our group is larger than 4?
